Transcription

To the second third and fourth articles hee saith and deposeth that
hee this deponent being at Saint Christofers one of the Charibee Ilands
was there hired and shipped to goe a common man in the said shipp the
Armes of ffarnambuck of Amsterdam then riding there, and being soe hired
by the Skipper [?dowe] hee went there aboard her and this hee saith was
about seaven monethes since. And saith the said shipp departed thence
with about foure hundred goates, to goe and trade therewith at some
free place as the master said, and shaped her course by
Gardalupa, and Martinica, and comming neare the Barbadas inder
saile about two dutch miles from the shore was met with bu the
dover frigot one of the frigots of this Commonwealth, and her boate
commiong aboard, some of the company that came in the boate told
the Skipper of the Armes of ffarnambuck that hee must bring his
papers and goe aboard the friggott which hee did, and then others
of the boates company being come aboard the said shipp, said that shee
was prize, and that her company must goe aboard the frigot,
and soe the boate comming back that had carried away the skipper
the rest of the company of the Armes of ffernambuck (saving two
or three) were taken out and alsoe carried aboard the frigot,
which went into Sparksies bay, and there they were turned ashore
and their said shipp and goates were carried to the English to the
Indian Bridge to the English fleete, and were confiscated and
disposed of by the Engish and soe lost to the owners of the said
shipp and goates, and shee was afterwards sold by the English to
kersow [EDITOR: Curacao]. and this seizure hee saith was about six monethes since
and before the said shipp had bin or traded at or received any goods
from any English plantation; And saith the said shipp was a
new shipp of about 125 lasts burthen, but the valew of her or
of her said lading hee knoweth not, and lastly that hee got
passage from the Barbada's for London, the master and the rest of
the company being scattered some one way and some another.
And otherwise hee cannot depose./

Martin Jansen Wolfe of Madenblick, Mr Cromhart of the same, and
others of Amsterdam and places thereabout, all dutch men and subiects
