English ffleete there under the Commande of Generall Blake, and that there
were aboard the sayd shipp at her sayd seizure one hundred nynety five chests
of soape laden for the Accompt of the sayd Joachim, Lawrence, and david
Zollicoffer, and others, their ffreinds of Saint Gallo and hamburgh, and
saith that since those letters of advise receaved, hee hath alsoe receaved from
the sayd ffactors at Marsellis more particular advise touching the sayd sope,
and a noate of the severall parcells of the sayd soape to whome they
doe belonge and howe they are marked, and to whome they were consigned
and saith that by the same noate it doth to this deponent appeare that fifty
seaven of the sayd 195 chests of soape were laden aboard the Switzer
aforesayd for the ioynt Accompt of the sayd Joachim, david
and Lawrence Zollicoffer, and marked with the firt marke in the margent
[FIRST MARKE, LH MARGIN]
and that forty three chests more of the sayd 195 chests of soape were laden
aboard her for the Accompt and adventure of Mathias Zollicoffer arlate and
marked with the second marke in the margent, and that twenty chests more
[SECOND MARKE, LH MARGIN]
of the sayd 195 chests of soape were laden aboard her for the Accompt and
adventure of the arlate hanne Conrade Zollicoffer, and marked with the third marke
[THIRD MARKE, LH MARGIN]
in the marhent, and that seaventy five chests more of the sayd 195 chests of
soape were laden aboard her for the Accompt of the arlate John Scrothering of
hamburgh and marked with the fowerth marke in the maragent, And
[FOURTH MARKE, LH MARGIN]
that ny the sayd noate it doth alsoe appeare to this deponent that the one hundred
and twenty chests of soape laden for the Accompt of the sayd Zollicoffers
were consigned to be dlivered at haverdegrace to the arlate Symon Vrolingh a dutch
Merchant living there, or at Roane, a factor or correspondent there of the sayd
Zollicoffers, and that the seaventy five chests of soape laden for the Accompt
of the sayd Scrothering were alsoe consigned to be delivered at
haverdegrace to the arlate John Van Campen and Marke Peterson hamburgh
Merchants resideing at haverdegrace or Roane and being factors or correspondents
of the sayd Scrothering, And hee this deponent being alsoe a Correspondent as
aforesayd to all the saud Zollicoffers, and to the sayd Scrothering and thereby
acquainted with their merchandizing affayres, well knoweth the sayd first
marke in the margent to be the usuall maarke of the sayd Joachim, Lawrence
and david Zollicoffer, which they use to marke their goods with, and that the
second marke in the margent is the ususall marke of the sayd Mathias Zolli
coffer which hee useth to marke his goods with, and that the third marke in the
margent is the usuall marke of the sayd hanse Conrade Zollicoffer, which hee
useth to marke his goods with, and that the sayd 4th marke in the margent
is the usuall marke of the sayd John Scrothering for his goods, And hee alsoe saith
that hee
