To the 14th hee saith that since the tyme the Exeter Merchants Quarter
was broke downe as aforesayd, there have bin other repayres beside the
mendeing thereof done unto her, but what those other repayres amount
unto hee knoweth not, And further hee cannot answere./
To the last Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath satisfied the contents thereof before
soe farr as hee can./

The clayme of Joachim Lawrence and David Zollicoffer}
of Saint Gallo in Switzerland and Paule Langerman of}
hamburgh for the shipp called the Switzer of which}
Jacob hinsh is Master and her tackle and furniture, and of}
the sayd Joachim Lawrence and David Zollicoffer and}
alsoe of Mathias Zollicoffer hanse Conrade Zollicoffer}
and John Scrothing for their severall and respective}
goods here under specified being 195 chests of soape}
lately seized in the sayd shipp by the English ffleete}
under the Command of General Blake: Suckley Budd}
Examined upon an allegation
arlate given in and admitted on the
behalfe of the sayd Zollicoffers
and Company./
Tobias Zollicoffer of Saint Gallen
in Switzerland Merchant but resideing for these 12 months last in the parish of Allhallows aged
twenty eight yeares or thereabouts
a witnesse sworne and examined
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first Article of the sayd allegation hee saith hee well knoweth that
the arlate Joachim, Lawrence, and david Zollicoffer of Saint Gallo in Switzerland and Paule Langerman
of hamborough are the true and reall Owners and Proprietors of
the arlate shipp the Switzer and of all her tackle and furniture and
soe have bin ever since about January last was three yeares, this hee
the better knoweth for that about that tyme the said shipp being taken by certaine
ffrench men of warr and carried to Tholloone in ffrance hee this deponent then and there
rebought or redeemed her by the order and for the use of the sayd
Zollicoffers and Langerman, (which Langerman was alsoe a part
Owner of her before such her seizure by the ffrench) and for such lawfull owners
and Proprietors they the sayd Zollicoffers and Langerman ever since such her buying have bin and are Commonly
reputed And further to this article hee cannot depose/
To the second and third articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that
hee this deponent is a factor and Correspondent to the arlate Joachim,
Lawrence, david, Mathias, and hance Conrade Zollicoffer, and the arlate John
Scrothing and soe hath bin for divers yeares last past, and by reason
thereof hee this deponent did receive letters of advise (about a moneth before
the sayd shipp the Switzer was brought up into the River of Thames) from Henry Zollicoffer John [?XXX] Zollicoffer, Bartholomew Zollicoffer and others the ffactors
of the sayd Joachim, Lawrence, and david Zollicoffer resideing at Marsellis,
that the sayd shipp the Switzer was taken and seized in the Streights by the
English
