saith that he knoweth not John Baptista Staine nor ever saw him to his knowledge
But saith that for the better concealing of the lading of the sayd money att Cadize
by the sayd de Veles the name of Baptista Stein was colourably made use of
And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the third he saith that he knoweth not any person called John Baptista Staine, nor that
any such person is [?ffactor] for the Lorenso, or Pedro interrate, or they for him, that
[?ever] this deponent heard. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the fourth he saith that the Interrate Lorenzo is birth a Duynkerker and hath
for about nine yeares of the knowledge of this deponent lived att Cadiz and the sayd
Hannekaerts as this Rendent hath heard was borne in fflanders and are Inhabitants
of Antwerpe. And for the Interrate John Baptista Stein he knoweth him not
nor beleeveth there is any such person. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the fifth he saith that the sylver now claymed was laden aboard the Salvador
by the sayd Lorenzo de Veles himselfe in the day tyme. and was received aboard
by the Master of the shipp Christian Cloppenberke. And further he cannot
depose.

To the sixth he saith that he this Rendent was present and saw the sayd Christian
Cloppenberke signe the bills of lading interrate aboard his shipp the Salvador
in the bay of Cadize on or neer the day mentioned in the bill remaining in
the Registry of this Court. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the seventh he saith that all the tyme of the lading of the sayd money the Master
of the Salvador tooke a note of it with the markes and numbers, but whether
he made any entry thereof in his booke this Rendent knoweth not. And further
he cannot depose.

To the eighth he saith that he believeth the bills of Lading interrate doe agree
with the sayd note by this Rendent predeposed. And otherwise he cannot depose
saving that he knoweth that the money was not laden by him in the bill of
Lading mentioned, but saith that the sayd Lorenzo de Veles made use of the
name of John Baptista Stein to conceale his owne. /

To the nynth he saith that he knoweth not or beleiveth that the Master of the Salvador
or his Purser or any other for him signed any other bills of lading for the sylver
now Claymed but the bills before mentioned, nor tooke or made any such memoranda
to the effect interrate. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the tenth he saith that the sayd money now claymed doth really belong to the
sayd Lorenzo de Veles and Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert and to noe subiect of
the States Gernerall or King of ffrance Interrate. And the sayd shipp Salvador
was really bound for Oostend and was there to have made her full discharge.
And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the eleventh he saith that the Interrate Lorenzo att the tyme of the lading of
the sayd sylver [?told] this deponent that he laded twenty of the sayd baggs for
his owne Accompt and four for the Accompt of the sayd Pedro and Andrea
Hannekaert. And further he cannot depose.

To the twelfth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo laded all the money now claymed himselfe
as he hath predeposed. And otherwise cannot depose.

To the thirteenth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo de Veles laded twenty of the sayd
baggs for his owne Accompt as he hath predeposed, and he the sayd Lorenzo allso
laded four baggs for the Accompt of the sayd Hannekaert with the proceed
of a [?] of [?bone] [?law] as this Rendent hath formerly deposed. And further
he cannot depose.

To the fourteenth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo att the tyme of lading did acquaint
this Rendent that twenty of the sayd baggs were laden for his owne Accompt
and att his owne perril and four of them for the Accompt and att the perrill of
the aforesayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert. And otherwise he cannot depose.
