  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

same a pretence for his idlenes or ig=
norance haveing undertaken what hee
could or would not performe and hee be=
leeveth and then the said Soames seeing
the said Chapman soe withdrawe him
selfe the said Soames alsoe refused to
carry in the said shippe soe that they
both failed when this Rendent had
most need of them in performance of
what they undertooke as hee beleeveth
and hee alsoe beleeveth that dureinge
the whole voyadge the said parties agent
in this cause were very idle negligent
and carelesse and disobedient to the
Commands of this Rendent and by
theire negligence and carelesnes all
the particulars in the schedule to his this
Rendents Answers annexed were imbea=
zelled lost and spoiled which were of the
severall values in the said schedule
alsoe expressed as hee beleeveth And soe
much hee beleeveth hee this Rendent
did pay and allowe for the same and
hee doeth beleeve that by reason of the
losse of the said shipps boate which was
staved by the shipps side at Naples att
noone day when this Rendent was on
shoare about the shipps imployment
and both his mates and most of the
Company onboard hee was forced to
stay a moneth whilest another boate
was built when as they were before
