Transcription

To the fourth pretended position hee
answereth and beleeveth
that after such time as the said Peacock
had seized the shippe the Eagle arlate
hee did cause her to bee searched for
monyes and alsoe put some of her
company in the bilboes whereof
this rendent was one and used other
torments to them to make them
discover what moneyes and bills of lading
were on board whereupon this rendent
findeinge noe other wayes and meanes
to prevent the same thoight it might
have bine the hazard of his life did
discover out of the said Peacocke that
there were moneyes and bills of ladinge
on bord all which was donne within two
dayes after the said shipps surprizall by
Captaine Peacocke And otherwise for
his parte he doth not beleeve the said
position to bee true in any parte thereof

To the fifth pretended position hee
answereth and beleeveth the same
to bee true.

To the sixt pretended position hee
answereth and beleeveth that this
rendent did tell the said Peacocke that
the gunner arlate had the said bills of
ladeinge and this rendent desired the
said Peacocke to aske him for the
same and this rendent beleeveth that the
said bills of ladeinge were not inclosed
