answereth and beleeveth<br />
that after such time as the said ''Peacock''<br />
had seized the shippe the ''Eagle'' arlate<br />
hee did cause her to bee searched for<br />
monyes and alsoe put some of her<br />
company in the bilboes whereof<br />
this rendent was one and used other<br />
torments to them to make them<br />
discover what moneyes and bills of lading<br />
were on board whereupon this rendent<br />
findeinge noe other wayes and meanes<br />
to prevent the same thoight it might<br />
have bine the hazard of his life did<br />
discover out of the said ''Peacocke'' that<br />
there were moneyes and bills of ladinge<br />
on bord all which was donne within two<br />
dayes after the said shipps surprizall by<br />
Captaine Peacocke And otherwise for<br />
his parte he doth not beleeve the said<br />
position to bee true in any parte thereof
To the fifth pretended position hee<br />
answereth and beleeveth the same<br />
to bee true.
To the sixt pretended position hee<br />
answereth and beleeveth that this<br />
rendent did tell the said Peacocke that<br />
the gunner arlate had the said bills of<br />
ladeinge and this rendent desired the<br />
said Peacocke to aske him for the<br />
same and this rendent beleeveth that the<br />
said bills of ladeinge were not inclosed<br />
