sayd shipp and goods to the Grand Canaries … sayd shipp and goods to the Grand Canaries, where (as by the sayd letter<br />
after appeareth) the sayd Leister made compllaint to the Governour there<br />
of the sayd uniust seizure and the Governour ordered the sayd Hans Albrecht<br />
to make restitution of the sayd shipp and goods as being taken after<br />
peace proclaymed betwixt both nations, which notwithstanding the<br />
sayd Hans Albrecht stole a way privily in the niight tyme from the<br />
Grand Canaries and carried off the sayd shipp the ''Constant Mary''<br />
her provisions and lading and sayles and powder with him and left<br />
the sayd ship the ''Constant Mary'' floateing at Sea as a wreck<br />
although the Governour having discovered him to be about to depart thence caused severall shott to bee made at<br />
the sayd Albrechts shipp to hinder him from soe doeing And<br />
further hee cannot depose./

To the first article of the sayd libell hee saith that ever since the<br />
last day of ffebruary lasy 1657 the arlate Robert Clarke hath of<br />
this deponents knowledge (who from that tyme hath bin a foremast Man<br />
