Transcription

sayd shipp and goods to the Grand Canaries, where (as by the sayd letter
after appeareth) the sayd Leister made compllaint to the Governour there
of the sayd uniust seizure and the Governour ordered the sayd Hans Albrecht
to make restitution of the sayd shipp and goods as being taken after
peace proclaymed betwixt both nations, which notwithstanding the
sayd Hans Albrecht stole a way privily in the niight tyme from the
Grand Canaries and carried off the sayd shipp the Constant Mary
her provisions and lading and sayles and powder with him and left
the sayd ship the Constant Mary floateing at Sea as a wreck
although the Governour having discovered him to be about to depart thence caused severall shott to bee made at
the sayd Albrechts shipp to hinder him from soe doeing And
further hee cannot depose./

To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true./

Mariner aged thirty sixe yeares
or thereabouts a wittnesse sowrne
and examined saith and deposeth as
followeth videlicet./

To the first article of the sayd libell hee saith that ever since the
last day of ffebruary lasy 1657 the arlate Robert Clarke hath of
this deponents knowledge (who from that tyme hath bin a foremast Man
of her) bin Master of the rlate shipp the Warewell, and that for
the like tyme the sayd Robert Clarke
was commonly reputed a part Owner of her and her tackle apparell and furniture together
with one Mr Einch of Wapping and one Mr ffoord of Ipwich and others
And further to this article hee cannot depose/

To the second article hee saith that on or about the second day of
August last the sayd shipp Warewell with her ladeing of Coales
belonging also to the sayd Clarke Winch ffoord and other her Owners
came to an Anchor at high water in the River of Thames a little below Wapping
