The personall answers of '''Michael'''<br />
'''Yardley''' made to certayne articles of<br />
contempte ministred unto him<br />
and Susan Allen.
To the first article he answereth and beleiveth<br />
he doth not knowe nor hath heard what<br />
causes or whether any of the clauses arlate are proper to be [?toyed] and<br />
adiudged in this Court of Admiraltye,<br />
neither doth he<br />
knowe what to beleeive in this behalfe./
To the second hee answereth and beleiveth<br />
that in the 20th yeare of the<br />
Raigne of Charles deceased and not since the<br />
arlate Susan Allen did cause the<br />
arlate Henry Bushell to be arrested<br />
at her suite at Commonlawe for seaven<br />
sixteenth parts of one hundred nyneth<br />
six chaldron of Coales taken in to<br />
the arlate shipp called the ''Henry and James''<br />
(whereof the sayd Bushell was master) in the<br />
river of Newcastle, and afterwards brought<br />
to London and there Landed and disposed of<br />
by the sayd Bushell, and hee<br />
further answeareth, and beleiveth that about<br />
nyne yeares since the arlate Susan Allen<br />
her husband deceased beinge indebted to this rendent<br />
in a bond of fiftye pounds for the payment<br />
of thirty pounds this rendent did after the<br />
death of her sayd husband sue the sayd<br />
Susan and obtayned a iudgment against her<br />
for part of the sayd debts and thereuppon the sayd<br />
Susan made a letter of attorney to this deponent<br />
to foe on with and prosequute the<br />
suite commenced by her against the sayd<br />
Bushell at Common Lawe, for the sayd debts<br />
in her name but to this rendents owne<br />
use, and accordingly this rendent did by vertue<br />
of the sayd letter of attorney goe on with<br />
and prosequute the sayd cause against the<br />
sayd Bushell and in the yeare 1650 arlate<br />
obteyned a iudgment against him for the sayd<br />
