the third place./
To the first and second articles of the sayd allegation hee saith saving<br />
his fforegoeing deposeition to the allegation given on the behalfe of the<br />
sayd Phillipps in the first place to which hee referreth hee cannot depose
To the 3 saving his deposition to the 3 article of the allegation given in the<br />
second place to which hee referreth hee cannot depose./
To the 4th saving his foregoeing deposition to the first and second articles of the<br />
allegation given in the second place hee cannot depose./
To the 5th hee cannot depose having never seene any letters of Attorney<br />

To the first article of the sayd libell hee saith that during all the<br />
moneths and tyme arlate in the yeares 1653 and 1654 and<br />
untill toward the latter end of the moneth of October 1655<br />
the arlate Gregory Carye did execute the office and place of<br />
Master or Commander of the arlate Shipp the ''Sisters'' and was<br />
Commonly accompted reputed and taken to bee the Master<br />
and Commander of her during the sayd tyme the premisses he<br />
deposeth for that hee knoweth the sayd Carye did as master of her bargaine<br />
for and buy divers quantities of provisions for the sayd shipp and as Master<br />
of her take upon him to pay for the same, and for that hee hath heard<br />
the Company of the sayd shipp acknowledge and confesse the tyme predeposed<br />
that the sayd Carey was Master of the sayd shipp And further to this<br />
