thereabouts a Wittnes sworne and examined saith<br />
and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first Article of the said Allegation, and schedule thereunto annexed<br />
and now seene and perused by this Examinate hee saith and deposeth in<br />
That in the moneth of december <u>1653</u>. arlate before the shipp the ''Charity''<br />
with the goods seized in her and now in Controversie sett saile<br />
from that Port, the said goods were entred into the Customs howse of<br />
Gottenburgh as belonging to the joynt Owners of the said shipp and<br />
lading, except foure Lasts and three quarters of tarr entred for the<br />
accompt of the Master and Companie of the said shipp, And saith, that hee<br />
well knoweth that the bookes of Entries for the Customes of the<br />
Place were and are very carefully fairely and exactly kept, and [?XX]<br />

knowledge and long observation of the same, And as to the schedule<br />
annexed, hee saith hee very well knoweth and is familiarly acquainted<br />

the Royall Customes of that place, and by long expeerience and observation<br />
well knoweth his usuall manner of subscription And saith That hee<br />
this deponent being impowred by the Magistracie of the said Citie to the<br />
effect hereafter expressed to come for England and being readie to depart<br />
from Gottenburgh, he said first schedule annexed being an Extract out of the<br />
said bookes of Entries was by an Officer of that Citie by order of the said<br />
Magistracie sent and delivered to this deponent, And for the reasons<br />
herein expressed, hee this examinate is fully assured in Conscience of the trueth<br />
and reality of the Contents thereof, though hee was not personally present<br />
at the firming and sealing of the same by the said Gabriel Jansen<br />
