4th schedule was and is an Instrument to the effect aforesaid, and really
sealed with the seale of the said City of Gottenburgh, which the premisses
this deponent knoweth for and upon the reasons aforesaid, And for that
this deponent hath seene and perused a letter of recommendation sent by and
from the said Magistrates to the Sweedish Resident here in favour of
the said Plentipotentiary, which letter was and is sealed with the same
Seale, And subscribed President and Councill. And further
cannot depose/

The 27th day of January 1654 Examined upon the said Allegation:/
Rp. 2us./
Haquinus Lidenius Citizen and Syndicus of the
Citie of Gottenburgh in Sweden aged 28. yeares or
thereabouts a Wittnes sworne and examined saith
and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first Article of the said Allegation, and schedule thereunto annexed
and now seene and perused by this Examinate hee saith and deposeth in
That in the moneth of december 1653. arlate before the shipp the Charity
with the goods seized in her and now in Controversie sett saile
from that Port, the said goods were entred into the Customs howse of
Gottenburgh as belonging to the joynt Owners of the said shipp and
lading, except foure Lasts and three quarters of tarr entred for the
accompt of the Master and Companie of the said shipp, And saith, that hee
well knoweth that the bookes of Entries for the Customes of the
Place were and are very carefully fairely and exactly kept, and [?XX]
that full faith and Creditt was and is given unto the [?XXX] this deponents
knowledge and long observation of the same, And as to the schedule
annexed, hee saith hee very well knoweth and is familiarly acquainted
with the arlate Gabriel Janion who is Principall Commissioner for
the Royall Customes of that place, and by long expeerience and observation
well knoweth his usuall manner of subscription And saith That hee
this deponent being impowred by the Magistracie of the said Citie to the
effect hereafter expressed to come for England and being readie to depart
from Gottenburgh, he said first schedule annexed being an Extract out of the
said bookes of Entries was by an Officer of that Citie by order of the said
Magistracie sent and delivered to this deponent, And for the reasons
herein expressed, hee this examinate is fully assured in Conscience of the trueth
and reality of the Contents thereof, though hee was not personally present
at the firming and sealing of the same by the said Gabriel Jansen
And further cannot depose./
