A business of contempt promoted by}
ffrancis ffowder against Arnold and Elias}
Beake Budd}

Which day appeared the said Budd
for the said ffowder and made himselfe
party for him and alleadged that the
said Arnold and Elias Beake doe sue
and implead the said ffowder at the comon
lawe for a matter or thinge belonginge to the
Jurisdiction of this Court in contempt thereof and
thereupon the Judges at his petition did decree the
said Arnold and Elias Beake to be monished to
appeare in the dyning chamber et cetera upon wednesday the
two and twentith day of this instant month of March
betweene the houres of nine and twelve in the
morninge of the same day to declare whether they have
any cause of action against the said ffowder for any other
flax then such as was taken and seized by him at Sea being
Comissionated lawfully thereunto in a certayne shippe named
the Love whereof [?hubritcht] Johnson was master and to show
cause why they should not be proceeded against in this Court for
their Contempt and vilifyinge of the Jurisdiction of the
Admiralty of England in sueinge for the said fflax in the
Sheriffs Courte in the Guildhall London./.

made himselfe party for them and produced
fore sureties Simon Kelsey of Chichester
merchant and James Lannder of the same
Citty Merchant who submitting themselves et cetera
obliged themselves et cetera for the said Palmer
hobson Manninge and others aforesaid in the
summe of 600 li of lawfull money of England to
the said John hodgson and John Easton to
answeare the action in this behalfe commenced against the
said Shippe and to pay what the said Palmer and others
aforesaid shalbe Condemned in with expences of suite in
case they shalbe overthrowne And unles et cetera which Caution
the Judges reaceaved and decreed the said shipp to bee
released from the arrest./.
