same were to have been unladed in the Port of Lisbone
and were by the Laders consigned to have bin delivered there
to severall Subjects of the said king of Portugall who upon
the receipt thereof were to have payd to this deponent as Master
of the said shipp the fraight due for the same, all which this
deponent well knoweth by reason and meanes of his said relation
to the said shipp, and observation of the said Lading designe and p[XXX]
and place to which the said shipps Lading went consigned, as
the greatest and most considerable part thereof, Onely this deponent
further saieth, That in Case any other person or persons had [?any]
part or interest in any of the said sugars Tobaccoes or Brazeele
wood, it was but in a very Litle and inconsiderable part thereof
and that such interest or part which did not belong to the Subjects
of the said king, did belong unto some Subject sof this Common=
=wealth of England, some whereof have in this Court, (as this
deponent beleeveth) made their Clayme demand or [?Arrest] for
the same since the said shipps arrivall in England. And further
to this Article he deposeth not./

To the 7th article hee saieth, That the Subjects of the Lords the
States of the United Provinces arlate in the said yeare 165[?7]
and at the time of the Lading of the said sugars and goods aboard
the said shipp at ffernambuco and for some yeares before, and
some time since had not nor have any trade nor were or are
suffered or permitted to have any trade in any parts of the
Brazeele which were and are in the dominions of the said
king, or to lade or carry sugars or other Commodities from t[hence]
but for all the said time there was and is warr and hostilities
at the Brazeele and other parts thereabouts betweene the said
king and the said Lords the States and their respective Subjects
And that of a reall trueth the said Lords the States or their
Subjects or any of them had not nor have any part in any of the
said shipps lading aforesaid, nor was any of the same orig[inally]
Ldaen for the accompt of them or any of them, nor doe they
challenge or pretend anty title to the same in point of [?propriety]
or that any of the same was originally Laden upon the accompt of
them or any of them. Which the premisses he knoweth, being as
aforesaid the master of the said shipp who had the care of
inspection and privity of in and to the said shipps Lading and
the propriety and proprietor[?ship] thereof, and being a hollander
by birth, and resident at Lisbone as aforesaid hath especially
found and observed the trueth of the premisses, And further
