To the 6th hee saith that don louis da Victoria is the name of
the factor that laded the said goods for the said Coymans, and saith hee is
a Spaniard, and otherwise negatively, saving as aforesaid.
To the 7th hee saith the said Balthazar and John Coymans sent
15 packs of valuable goods to the Canaries in the said shipp as linnen,
silkes, stockings and other goods, which this deponent sawe brought
out of their [?packhouse] and sawe them marked with their marks, and
this deponent being then stiersman made entrie thereof accordingly
in his notes of the lading. And otherwise hee cannot answer saving
as aforesaid.
To the 8th hee saith that the said goods soe laden at the Canaries for
accompt of the said Balthazar and John Coymans were consigned
to be delivered to them at Amsterdam, and otherwise negatively, referring
himselfe to his foregoeing deposition.
To the 9th negatively, saying hee verily beleeveth there is not nor
was soe much as a pins-worth of any of his said lading belonging
to any ffrench.
To the 10th hee saith hee knoweth not to the contrary but that the
said Balthazar and John Coymans are sole owners of the said shipp the
Saint Mary, and as hee remembreth they bought her of the said
Calles about two monethes before such her setting out from
Amsterdam. And otherwise hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the 11th hee saith that it was in or about the beginning of
October last past that the said English shipp chased
the said frigot and came up with the Saint Mary, And otherwise
hee cannot answer saving as aforesaid.
To the 12th hee saith that hee knoweth not of one Spaniard that
was in his shipp when the English rescued her, and hee
beleeveth their (sic) were about 14 or 15 of the company of
Collart then alsoe aboard her, And othewise hee cannot answer
for hee himselfe was not then on board her.
To the 13th hee saith that the said Collard after hee had brought this
deponent into ffrance, and had [?left] this deponents shipp, hee gave this
deponent some of his papers againe namely foure or five bills of
lading, and some receipts which his this deponents stiersman
had given to the Barkere's that brought goods aboard, which they
restored to the shipp when this deponent signed the bills, and
saith hee hath the said foure or five bills and receipts and
his booke of entries in his custodie; And otherwise hee cannot
answer saving as aforesaid.
