producent having such notice, sent into sewerall places in the West of
England to enquire if any such goods were brought up, whereupon hee
shortly after received advise from One Ambrose Jenning living at or
neere Penryn in Cornwall, That hee the said Jennings had discovered that
a private man of war called the Saint Ives Scout had brought up such
Commodities to Saint Ives or some port thereabouts. The premises hee
deposeth upon the grounds aforesaid, as being privy to the producents
affaires and transactions, and thereby having seene and perused letters to
the effect predeposed. And further cannot depose./
To the 6th hee saith, That this deponent verily beleeveth, That the said goods
in Case they had arrived safe at Saint Sebastians, as the said ship Saint
Peter did, they might and would have yielded 30 li per Centum profit
for that as the said producent was assured by letters of advise sent from
his said Correspondent there resident, such sorts of Merchanizes
were there in great request, and by reason of the obstruction of
trade by reason of the troubles aforesaid, such goods were there very
rare, and would yield a very great and considerable benefit, And
further saving his foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth
hee saith hee cannot depose./
To the 7th hee referreth himself to the Acts and proceedings of this
Court. And further cannot depose:/-
To the 8th hee saith, hee this deponent verily beleeveth, That the employment
of the valew of the said goods, when originally bought, together
with the advantage which might thereupon very well have accrewed
in the time aforesaid, might well have produced fifty pounds benefit
or thereabouts to the said producent. And further cannot depose.
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/:-

To the first hee saith hee saw not the goods interrate packed up, but
saw sewerall of them before their packing up, And otherwise negatively:-
To the second hee referreth himself to his foregoeing deposition
wherein hee hath declared his knowledge as to the Contents thereof./
To the third hee saith, That upon payment of the Customes for the
goods in question here at London by this rendent hee received
Cocketts for the same, and saith the sum e hee paid for the same at the
Custome house was as hee remembreth about 7 li sterling And
otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose/:-
To the 4th hee saith, That the ship the Saint Peter wherein the said goods
were laden as aforesaid, was as this rendent hath credibly heard
bought of the Prize Officer at Portsmouth, but for whose accompt
hee knoweth not, Nor can hee further depose/:-
