proceeded thereon from Gravesend, and otherwise hee cannot depose
saving as aforesaid.

To the fourth hee saith hee cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

Rp. 1.

To the first hee cometh required by the said william White to testifie the
truth in this cause, and saith hee speaketh the truth without any endeavour
of laying the blame on any but such as did it, and otherwise negatively
saving as aforesaid.

To the second hee saith the Margaret laye upper most towards London
bridge and the Mayflower below her, and that the force of the winde
blowing hard, shott the Margaret upon the Poope of the Mayflower
and soe did the dammage aforesaid, the Margaret not being moored
at distance enough from the Mayflower upon her said second mooring.
And otherwise negatively saving as aforesaid, saving the Margaret
received alsoe some hurt from the Mayflower
by meanes of the said shipp the Maargaret her being soe unduely moored
as aforesaid.

Repeated before the Judges in Court.

Examined upon the foresaid allegation.

John White of the parish of Saint Antholine London
Marchant, aged 40 yeares or thereabouts sworne and
examined.

To the first hee referreth himselfe to the Registrie of this Court, And
otherwise cannot depose, saving Simon Bayly was master of the Constant.

To the second hee saith that in or about the moneth of Aprill 1651
there was seized by the shipp the Constant and her company a shipp
or vessell called the [?Eenderacht] or Conrard; laden with sugars
Shumack and some Madera wines, and by her brought up to Portsmouth
and in or about May next following this deponent went purposely downe
to Portsmouth to buy the said shipp and lading, and there viewed and tooke
notice of the shipp and lading and found that they were worth the
summe of two thousand pounds sterling, and soe much this deponent
offered and would have given for the same. And otherwise hee
cannot depose.

To the third hee referreth himselfe to the lawe and the contract
made betweene Captaien Phillips and his mariners. And otherwise hee
cannot depose.

To the second hee cannot depose.

To the third hee doth not knowe whether hee be a paart owner or
not of the Constant, and otherwise referring himselfe to the
Charter partie hee cannot depose.
