On the behalfe of Michael de Rutter}
and company owners of the Seahorse}
of fflushing, Jacob Price Master taken}
at the Barbadas}

Jacob Price of fflushing in Zealand Mariner
late master of the said shipp the Seahorse, aged
56 yeares or thereabouts, sworne as in the acts of
Court and examined upon certaine Interrogatories
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet

To the first second, third fourth and fifth Interrogatories hee saith and
deposeth that hee well knoweth the said shipp the Seahorse and hath
soe donne ever since shee was built, which her building was donne at
Rotterdam about three yeares since by the order and [?on] the cost of Michael
de Rutter, Everard [?Ghisling]. Giles Tissen, Adrian Pile, daniel Pile
Simon Beane, Mr Le Pall[?nin], John Blamale, Zacharias Vande Velde
Jacob Van Aspe Myn heer [?CoXX] and him this deponent, which hee
knoweth being imployed by his said felow owners to manage the building
of the said shipp, and laying out and disbursing the charges thereof and
going master of her, being constituted master by the said owners, who have
ever since bin and still are the true and lawfull owners of her and of her
tackle, apparell and furniture, and for such commonly accompted. And
saith they were and are all dutchmen and dwellers and houskeepers in
fflushing where they have all dwelt for all
or the most part of their times, all or most of them being natives of
that place, and that they were and are subiects of the Lords the States of
the United Netherland Provinces. And saith that in or about the
beginning of the moneth of january last (new stile) the said owners
laded the said shipp with a cargo of wine, brandewyn, beare, porke,
beefe, stockfish, oile, and [?tranie] for provisions as alsoe shooes, linnens,
stuffs, and some deales, to be carried and transported to the Charibbe
Ilands and there to be trucked away and disposed of to and for the accompts
of them the said owners, and that on the said voyage the said shipp departed
from fflushing on or about the twelveth of January last (new stile)
and without going to or being in any other port, went directly to
Martinica, where shee arived with the said lading on or
about the twelveth of february last new stile, and there staid about
five sayes, and on or about the 17th of the same moneth shee
went to Gardaloup, and thence went on the 21th of the same moneth
or thereabouts to Monserrat where shee arived the same night
with purpose to inquire and find John Marteson
Merchant who had formerly received goods for the said owners, and
this deponent was to take an accompt of him concerning the disposall
thereof, and this deponent going to Martinica and Gardeloup was to
seeke him, and in case hee could heare noe newes of him nor meete
with him, at Martinica, Gardeloupe nor Mountserrat, then hee [?meant]
to goe to Saint Christofers to seeke for him, and comming to an anchor
in the roade of Mountserrat with purpose in the morning to make
inquire of the said John Martens[?en]m, the ffleete of this Commonwealth
came into those parts, and one of the shipps thereof came the said morning
