The premisses hee deposeth
being boatswaine of the said shipp and going and being in her
all the voyage to the time of her seizure, and turned ashorem and [?XXX]
getting passage for England, and saith shee was not at nor traded in any of
the English plantations [?particularised] as aforesaid.
To the third hee saith that the said horses and goates brought from
kers[?ow] and seized as aforesaid were in his estimation worth 5000
gilders or 500 li sterling, and the shipp and appurtenances worth about
7000 gilders or 700 li sterling. And otherwise saving as aforesaid
hee cannot depose.
To the fourth hee saith the said horses and goates seized as aforesaid
now belonging to the said owners of the said shipp, and soe were those
that were brought out of holland as aforesaid, and otherwise
saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose.
To the fifth hee saith the said master of the said shipp got passage
from the Barbada's for the Iland Tobacque, hoping thence to get
passage home, and the company were scattered some one way and
some another, and this deponent got passage for England as
aforesaid. And otherwise saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot
depose.

Upon the Libell./

Richard Cawthorne of the parish of Saint Mildreds
in the Poultry Stationer, where he hath lived
about 11 yeares past aged about 36 yeares, a
wittnes produced and sworne and examined deposeth
as followeth/
To the third article of the Libell he deposeth and saith That he
this deponent doth know the arlate Titus Camplaine the producent
very well, he the sayd Camplaine having been his the producents
Customer for stationary=wares for many yeares, And he saith
that by his this deponents booke he findeth that the said Camplaine
(who liveth at Ipswich) bought of the deponent the fifteenth
October 1652 as much paper as came to 2 li 12 s 4 d, and
that the sayd paper being packt up was according to the said
Camplaines order sent by this deponent unto the shopp of
his precontest John Appleton a Tobacconist in Cornehill, to be
from thence sent with other goods aboard a vessell to goe for
Ipswich, but he saith he knoweth not the name of the said
vessell, And further to the said article he cannot depose.
To the rest he is not examined by order of the producent.
To the Interrogatoryes [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatory he answereth that he commeth to be a wittnes at
the request of Mr Camplaine the producent, that he is payd
for the paper predeposed of, and that he hath noe interest in
the busines or goods interrate./
To the 2d Interrogatory he answereth that he cannot call to mind that he
knoweth any man that goeth by the name of Brandlin.
To the third, fourth and fifth Interrogatoryes he knoweth not to
answeare,.
