Almsford in Sommerseteshire, and hath lived for about ten yeares last oast
in London, And otherwise negatively:-
To the second hee knoweth nothing thereof, nor saw any money paid
for the shipp interrate.
To the third hee saith, the interrate Richard Le Bas a the
first time of this rendents knowledge of him lived in the parish
of East Cheape London and since in Mincing Lane, and is a
frenchman borne as hee beleeveth, And otherwise saving his
foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose:-/
To the 4th hee saith, the said Richard le Bas hath a brother
by name James le Bas dwelling at Caen in ffrance
And otherwise cannot depose:-/
To the 5th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof:-/

Examined upon the said Allegation

George Whiller of Lisbone in Portugall
Merchant aged 26. yeares or thereabouts
a Wittnesse sworne and examined saith as
followeth videlicet./
To the first article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That
in or about the moneths of June and July in the yeare 1650
last past the arlate Captaine John Lyne the producent in
the Cause being at the Bahia in Brazila did then and there
by his factor the arlate Ignatio de Costa cause to bee laden
aboard the shipp the Nostra Seignora de Rosario, whereof this deponent
then was Commander five chests of Muscavadoes sugars, and
two Chests of white sugar of the marke in the margent, to bee
[MARKE, LH MARGIN]
transported in the said shipp from the Bahia aforesaid to Lisbone
in Portugall for the proper accompt and adventure of the said
John Lyne. The premisses this deponent well knoweth as being
Captaine or Commander of the said shipp the time predeposed
And otherwise saving his subsequent depositions hee saith hee
cannot depose:-/
To the second hee saith, That hee this deponent about the time
of the lading of the said sugars aboard his said shipp the
Nostra Seignora de Rosario did signe foure bills of ladeing all
of one tenor for the said sugars importing the receipt of the sugaars
at the Bahia, and that they were to be delivered to him the said
producent or his order at Lisbone for his the said producents
proper accompt, And saith, That the said Ignatio de [?Costa]
