lading of the said goods into a Lighter from Saint Saviours docke to be carried in and aboard
the said shipp Julian, which goods were then in a good and safe condition, and fitt for any
convenient transportation beyond seas. The premisses this deponent knoweth by meanes of
his employment aforesaid. And further cannot depose./:-.

To the 5th hee saith hee knoweth nothing as to the valew of the goods in question, neither
here nor in ffrance/:

To the 6th article hee saith That hee this deponent some tyme after the lading of the said
goods went aboard the said shipp the Julian then being in the River of Thames
and found and perceived and fetchd from aboard the said shipp about eleaven
empty Casks which had been laden with he goods aforesaid, all which goods were
perished and lost by leakage of the said shipp, as this deponent then observed, onely one
of the said vessells of Copperes or about the quantity thereof was preserved. And
further for the valew of Copperes at that time hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof

To the 7th hee saith, hee knoweth nothing as to the Contents thereof./

To the 8th and 9th hee referreth himselfe to the Acts and proceedings of this Court
and further cannot depose/:

To the 10th 11th and 12th hee saith, hee referreth himselfe to the Acts and proceedings of this
Court, and beleeveing the said [?Brian] and Companie to be subjects of this
Commonwealth and subordinate to the Jurisdiction of the high Court of
Admiralty of England hee cannot further depose/:

Millner Mugford of Giles Criplegate London
Mariner, where he hath lived about two yeares
past, aged about 32 yeares, a wittnes produced
sworne and examined he deposeth as followeth.

To the first, seceond and third articles of the said allegation
he deposeth and saith That he this deponent was Gunner
of the shipp the Elizabeth of London arlate the voyage
in question, and saith that of the certaine knowledge
of him this deponent the said shipp was fitted and
furnished out to Sea with warlike provisions necessary
and sufficient for three months voyage, And was manned
with one hundred and forty men or thereabouts for the
said warlike employment, And he further saith that
the arlate Robert Rich did furnish the arlate Captaine
Stanton in and for the warrfaring Voyage in question
with three Commissions under the seale of this Court, one
of them against the Subiects of the States of the United
Provinces, one other against the ffrench King and his Subiects
