Transcription

her lading of Rosin, and waxe and other goods, and
alsoe a hoye called the hope loaden with C[?XXXX], and
a vessell called the fflower pott loaden with pewter
and nayles, And that all the said shipps or vessells
soe taken and surprized by the shipp the Constant
were carryed into Portsmouth and there delivered into the
custody of the sayd Captaine Philipps, The premisses he
knoweth being present at Portsmouth when the said
Captaine Philipps disposed of the said shipps and
their respective ladings, and alsoe he the deponent heard
the Governor of Portsmouth say that Captaine Philipps
had told him that the said shipps and goods brought
into Portsmouth were all his. And further he cannot
depose.

Samuel Wright of the parish of Stepney Mariner
where he hath lived about 2 yeares past, aged
28 yeares, a wittnes produced and sworne and being
examined deposeth as followeth./

To the allegation made in the Acts of Court and to the schedule
therein mentioned and by him this deponent read and perrused at
this his time of examination he deposeth and saith That he
the deponent was one of the Company of the allegate shipp the
Constant, and that he was present and aboard her when the said
shipp and her Company tooke and seized a hoye laden with
herrings, a shipp called the Joseph laden with salt, prunes
vinegar and other goods, and a shipp called the Concord laden
with Bahia Sugars and Shemack and other goods and alsoe
a shipp called the Dolphin loaden with pitch and rossin and
the shipp called the Winter king loaden with Rye, and alsoe
a shipp called the Island of [?XXXing] with her loading of
[?XXX] commodities, and a hoye called the hope laden with [?XXX]
and alsoe a vessell called the fflower pott loaden with pewter
and nayles, All which sayd prizes were brought into
Portsmouth and there delivered into the custody of the allegate
Captaine Philipps, who made sale thereof, And that all
the persons mentioned in the allegate schedule were of the said
shipp the Constant her Company, and employed out by the
said Captaine Philipps, who promised to pay the said shipps
Company the thirds, and he saith that the sayd shipp and her
Company was in the imployment of the said Philipps
in taking the aforementioned prizes for about eight monethes
And further he cannot depose.

Thomas Greene of the parish of Stepney Chirurgeon
where he hath lived theise 8 yeares past, aged
about 60ty yeares, a wittnes produced, sworne and
being examined he deposeth as followeth.

To the sayd allegation made in the acts of Court and the
schedule therein mentioned and now by the deponent read
and
