(whereof Ralphe Allarton was late Master) and her ladeing}
lately rescued from the Brestmen of warr by Captaine}
Tayler Captaine of the Lizard ffrigott in the imediate}
service of this Commonwealth and against the Lord Protector et cetera}

Examined upon an allegation on the behalfe of Edward Warr Ralphe
Wilson William King Daniell Bowman Bartholomew Rico Patrick
Creagh and Company./

Merchant aged 30 yeares or thereabouts
a witnesse sworne and examined
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first seecond and third articles of the sayd allegation hee saith and
deposeth that hee this deponent was and is an inhabitant of Limbrick and doe hath
bin for these three yeares last past and was and is well acquainted with the sayd Edward
Warr Ralph Wilson William King and daniell Bowman and saith that hee was
present in Limbrick when the persons aforenamed did in the behalfe of them selve
and others of their company buy the arlate shipp the Trooper of Limbrick in the
moneths of March or Aprill last past And saith that during
the Months of March Aprill May June and July last past the sayd Warr Wilson
King Bowman abd company were commonly reputed the lawfull Owners and Proprietors
of the sayd shipp her tackle apparrell and furniture And alsoe knoweth that
the sayd Warr Wilson King Bowman and Company did in or about the moneth of
Aprill last fitt and prepare the sayd shipp the Trooper for a voyage from Limerick
aforesayd to ffalmouth r some other Port of England and from thence to goe to Saint
Malloes in ffrance upon a tradeing voyage if ffree trade might there be had and
did before her setting forth from Limbrick on the sayd voyage (of this deponents
knowledge) constitute and make the arlate Ralphe Allerton Master of her for the sayd
voyadge and of this deponents knowledge did also cause to be laden aboard the sayd shipp
severall merchandizes videlicet hides sugar brasse tallowe and other Commodities for
the Accompt of them the sayd Owners and did alsoe make and constitute the arlate John
Burt their Merchant And ffactor to goe in the sayd shipp the sayd voyage an
dispose of the sayd goods as hee the sayd Burt should thinke fitting and returne
with the proceede of themto Limbrick aforesayd And saith the sayd Warr Wilson
King Bowman and Company were and are subiects of this Commonwealth of England
and comonly reputed the lawfull Owners and Proprietors of the sayd hides sugar
brasse tallowe and other Commodities soe as aforesayd laded on board the sayd shipp
the Trooper And further saving his subsequent depositions hee cannot depose./
To the 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th and 9th articles hee saith that hee being then present at Limbrick knoqweth
that the sayd shipp the Trooper after her being laden with the goods aforesayd
did sett sayle from thence with the sayd Ralphe Allerton as Master and his
Company and the sayd Burt as Marchant of her on board her on her sayd intended
voyage and further of his certayne knowledge hee cannot depose but saith hee
hath heard that shee was shortly after taken at sea by some Brest men of
warr and retakenn by the arlate Captaine Tayler and by him carried into [?Kingesall]
in Ireland, And hee saith that a report to that effecte comming
to Limbrick the sayd Edward Warr did ride over from thence to Kingsale and there
redeemed
