said shipp Thomas Bonadventure by the said Richard Chewne Roger
ffowke and Companie Agents and ffactors to and for the said Alderman
ffrederick and Companie for their proper use and accompt, and after
such delivery this deponent tooke a receipt under the hande of the said
Norleigh and Constable for the said goods. And further hee cannot
depose./

To the 19th hee saith, That the said goods wares and Merchandizes remained
in the Lazaretta at Porta fferrara aforesaid from the moneth of ffebruary
or thereabouts 165[?2]. untill the moneth of September 1653. which their
saty and remaining there was for that the said ffrederick Chewne and
Companie did for so long time deny or delay the payment of the fraight
due for the same; for as hee saith, in Case the said frederick and
Company had paid or given order for the payment of the said fraight, their goods
had immediately upon their discharge at Porta fferrara been delivered to
any that should have demannded them by authority from the said ffrederick
and Consorts, aswell as all other Merchants goods then discharged
at Porta fferrara were upon payment of the fraight due for them delivered
unto their Owners or their respective orders. The premisses this deponent
well knoweth being as aforesaid Purser of and belonging to the said
shipp Thomas Bonadventure during the Voyage in question, and upon
that occasion having particular influence upon and acquaintance with all the
transactions concerning the ladeing in Controversy. And further
hee saith hee cannot depose./

To the 20th hee saith,That neither the said Norleigh and Constable nor
any other ffactor or factors to or for the said ffrederick and Companie did
ever shew or produce any order or authority from their Principalls, whereby
they did or could demannd or receive the said goods and Merchandizes
from the said George hughes, or this deponent his Purser, untill about the
moneth of September 1653. arlate, in which the said Norleigh and
Constable produced and shewed to this deponent at Legorne an Order
from the Commissioners for Indempnity here at London requiring the delivery of
the said goods, which order this deponent obeyed and accordingly delivered the [?commodities]
as by him is predeposed. And further cannot depose./

To the 21th hee saith and deposeth, That the arlate William ffowke
Edward ffowke and Roger ffowke, all well knowne to this deponent
were and are brothers and all of them brothers to ffrancis ffowke one
of the parties in this Cause, and for such they were and are well knowne
and generally esteemed and reputed, And the said William Edward
and Roger ffowke were and are in Consortshipp togeather both at
Aleppo and Ciprus, and the said Richard Chewne did in [?mannage]
