and gett imployment for her for their common and best advantage
and not otherwise, And the freight for the sayd salt was to
have bene payd by Monsieur Galliart or Gammont a ffrench man of
haver de grace to whom the salt stood consigned [##]

And further
he cannot depose.
To the 5th. he saith he cannot depose otherwise than as aforesayd not
knowing the value of the sayd salt onely saith that the sayd
thirteene hunded and odde bushells of salt make about three
hundred seventy eight moyes and five bushells.
To the 6th he saith his sayd shipp hath ten gunnes about five hundred
pound of powder and other ammunition proportionable [?XXX] nine
musketts, nyne halbets with picks and other things, and allso
three Cables, four anchors and one dragg, one topp spritt
sayle, one spritt sayle, a foresayle with his bonnet a foretopsayle
a maintopsayle, a maynsale with his bonnet, a nezane, allso a new
foresayle, a new maintopsayle, a new bezane and all good
furniture necessary which with the shipp cost eighteene
thousand guilders, the value he cannot att present otherwise
sett forth. And saith he knoweth not of any plate f{?XXXX] or
any goods whatsoever in the sayd shipp, other thean what is above
expressed. And further cannot depose.
To the 7th he saith the shipp when she was seized had on board
her eight hundred and fifty pounds of bread, one barrell and
better of flesh, three hundred pound stockfish. three quarters
of a barrell of butter, about eighteene Cheeses, one hogshead
of wyne, and two hogsheads of beere. all which were the
provisions of the sayd shipp, the sayd hogshead of wyne excepted
which did belong to this deponent. And further cannot depose.
To the 8th he saith he signed to a Charter party for the delivery
of the sayd salt, which he hath seene in the Registry of this
Court, and he signed noe bill of lading nor other writing
whatsoever for the sayd salt, and signed the sayd Charter party att Brouage
To the 9th he cannot depose otherwise than as aforesayd.
To the 10th he saith he was and is master of the sayd shipp and came
first into her att Surdam where she was built and further
saving as aforesayd he cannot depose.
To the 11th he saith there was not any Commission of marke on board
the sayd shipp against the English.
To the 12th he saith all the goods in the sayd shipp are specifiyed in the
sayd Charter party the sayd hogshead of wyne excepted which did belong
to this deponent being an Inhabitant of Amsterdam and a subiect
of the States Generall./.
To the 13th he saith he entred the sayd salt in his almanack which is now
in his Custody, and other books he saith there was none in the
sayd shipp for that purpose.
