or swore the same if hee should live and should be thereto required or to the
very same effect. And further deposeth that shee had bin maried to the
said Josua Reeve for the space of 16 yeares together and upwards next
before the death of him the said Josua, and thereby well knoweth that for
15 yeeres together next before such his death hee was used and accustomed to
goe to and againe betweene Amsterdam and London; and that for five yeares
space and a halfe of the time aforesaid
hee the said Josua lived in Amsterdam, whether this deponent
beng his wife went severall times to him in that time,
namely about thirteene yeares since hee went thether and
dwellt there about foure yeares, and that hee came for England and lived
here in London above two yeeres and a halfe, and then went and dwelt againe
about a yeare and halfe at Amsterdam, And saith that hee said on his death
bedd that the said shipp the Sampson was built there in that
time of the said foure yeares of his first dwelling there. And otherwise shee
cannot depose.

To the crosse Interrogatories in the fourth place

To the first shee saith that shee was never aboard the shipp the Sampson
aforesaid, but about a weeke before Michaelmas last was twelve moneth
shee being with her said husband ashore at Blackwall, hee there pointed
to a shipp lying in the River, and said to this deponent that that shipp was
built in Amsterdam, or els said, that that is one of the shipps that belong
to Amsterdam, but which of those two expressions hee used shee remembreth
not as shee saith, nor doth shee remember that hee named the shipp hee
soe pointed at.

To the second shee saith that the said Josua Reeve her late husband departed this life about
eleaven dayes after Michaellmas last was a twelve moneth, and saith shee
was frequently present with him in the time of his sicknesse and even
at the time of his expiring and death.

To the third shee saith shee doth not knowe howe longe the said shipp
Sampson hath bin in the River of Thames.

To the fourth shee saith that it was about three or foure dayes before
his death that hee the said Josua said and affirmed that the said shipp
Sampson was built at Amsterdam as aforesaid.

To the fifth shee saith shee did not see the said Josua leave any note
touching the said shipp, nor knoweth of any that hee made or caused to
be made, And otherwise shee cannot depose.

To the sixth shee can reade written hand, but cannot write as shee
saith.

To the seaventh and eighth shee referreth herselfe to her foregoeing deposition
and saith shee doth not knowe that ever shee sawe the shipp the
Sampson (in question) And otherwise saving as aforesaid shee cannot depose

To the nineth shee saith that for theise 6 yeares last shee hath lived in
the parish of Saint Buttolphs Algate, first for 3 yeares in houndsditch and then three
yeares or thereabouts on the Minories, where shee nowe dwelleth over against the
fountaine taverne, and before shee came to live in hounsditch shee dwelt in
Bishopsgate
