Transcription

London, her goods were all (saving the brimstone) taken out, and were
very much damnified of this deponents sight and many of them spoiled by sea
water received aboard in the storme. And saith there was a greate
and furious storme all that day that the said shipp soe came to dover and
the night beforem and that by force of the said storme shee lost (as
this deponent sawe when shee came to dover) her bolt spritt, yards
sailes and other tackle to the valew of thirtie pounds sterling, Item
one halfe of a greate new cable to the valew of 25 li sterling, Item
for chardges to recover three of her lost cables and anchors twenty
pounds sterling, the most of which money this deponent paid.
Item for hire of men to halle the said shipp into the port of dover
to preserve her from Rack and other chardges thereabout thirtie
pounds sterling. And saith there were many baggs of rice
damnified with sea water, alsoe many baggs of Annice seeds, and
one butt of almonds, and saith the rice that was good was worth
10 s per hundred, one hundred with another, the annice seeds 18 s per hundred,
and saith that a greate quantitie of the said Rice, annice seeds and
almonds were quite spoiled. Item that there were 100 baggs of currans
damnified, which vy reason of the dammage could not be
sold for above 36 s per hundred, whereas had they not bin damnified they
wpuld have yeelded 48 s per hundred. Item for dammage in
nineteene chests of brimstone refined (being wetted) to the simme of
twenty pounds sterling. Item for dammage of brimstone that
[?Became] loose in the shipp, and for what was buried in the mudd and
sand 60 li sterling. Item for chardges of severall lighters to
save the tackle, sailes, and other things of the said shipp fifteene
pounds sterling, Item for severall porters and others
for severall dayes, to help to take the Brimstone out, eighteene pounds
sterling. All which hee knoweth being present and
seeing and understanding the premisses to be soe had and donne as
aforesaid.
