all dammages to his Imployers that might have befallene the Martha
or her lading by the detention of the sayd dutch built shipp. And
further referring himselfet to the Law he saith he cannot depose.
To the 5th article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that there was
great want of provisions on board the said dutch built shipp her Company
being in great distresse and allmost starved, and albeit there were
some goods taken out of the sayd Dutch=built shipp into the Martha
yet the same was done in exchange for provisions of victualls
which the sayd Pibus did furnish the sayd dutch shipp with. And
this deponent being then and there present did not see or heare
that any goods were taken from the sayd vessell but by way of
Exchange, and the Skipper of that vessell went away well
satisfyed with the sayd exchange, and releife thereby afforded him
for preservation of the lives of his Company being in great distres
for want of provisions as aforesayd. And othewise hee cannot
depose.
To the 6th article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the Marthas
anchor upon her outwards voyage being weighed not farr from
Quinborough brought upp a small anchor of about four hundred
weight and a rotten Junke which in all probability had layne there
six or seven yeares, and the samw were taken into the Martha
and carryed to Greenland where the sayd Pibus lent the sayd

sayd Junke was not worth above ten shillings, and sayd anchor
nor worth above four pounds or five pounds at the most in the
judgement of this deponent, but what benefit the sayd Pibus did
make thereof he knoweth not. And further he cannot depose.

To the 2. hee saith there were as he remembreth six shott made
from the Martha att or towards the sayd Dutch vessell but the
sayd Dutch vessell did not make any shott at all. And saith the
goods delivered out of the sayd Dutch vessell into the Martha were
about fourteene Rolls of Tobacco, three small caske (one whereof
was halfe full of Indico, and the other had Indico in them as hee
