the said John Lamotte William Janson and one Peter Lowis all factors and
Correspondents of the said producent, who respectively laded the silver barrs
or moneyes predeposed after the ladeing of the same as aforesaid by letters of
advise sent by the ordinary post ober land from Spaine to Antwerpe intimated
the ladeing thereof unto the said producent with the Valewes charges and particular
markes and numbers before expressed, And saith that at or about the time of
lading of the said sylver as is predeposed, there were three bills of ladeing all
of one tenor signed by the said respective Captaines, or their Pursers in their names
for each parcell of silver, savieing the two parcells of the markes P.F. which
were laden in the shipp Sampson and were both contained in one bill of lading
so that there were nyne bils of lading and three of the same tenor for each
parcell, one whereof was sent in the respective shipp where such a parcell of
silver was laden, and one other was sent over land to the same producent at
Antwerp and the third remained in the hands of the said ffactors or laders in
Spaine, And saith That the nine bills of ladeing annexed to the Allegation
and now showed to him this examinate were and are nine of the said Originall
bills of ladeing which the said producent received at Antwerp from his said
ffactors before the seizure of the said shipp and their lading by the shipps
of this Commonwealth, and since have bin sent by the said producent to
Mr Richoult and Companie Merchants here in London, to the intent to reclayme
the saud sylver for the said producent, and there were 9. others of the same tenor
aboard the said shipp at the time of her said seizure Which are brought into the
REgistry of this Court where they now remaine; All which said bills of
ladeing were and are reall and true, and so had and done as therein is contained
which hee deposeth and knoweth being by eanes of the said producents Correspon
dency presently acquainted with the severall handwriteings wherewith the said bills of
ladeing respectively are filled up, and haveing severall times formerly seene and
observed the manner of firme of the said Captaines, for one whereof namely for
Otto George his Purser hath firmed to three of the bills of ladeing annexed to
the allegation and three others remaineing in this Registry, And this deponent haveing
seene the said 9 bills of ladeing seized aboard and now remaining in the Registry aforesaid, Hath
observed the same to agree punctually with the bills of ladeing annexed to the Allegation
by which meanes and for the reasons predeposed this deponent is absolutely confirmed
in the trueth of his deposition to this Article. And further cannot depose

by the bookes of accompts of the said producent that hee hath lived some 16.
yeares or thereabouts in dover in England, and during such his residence here did
receive returnes of very considerable quantities of silver from Spayne into this
Nation, and by the same meanes of this deponents owne knowledge hath observed that the
said producent for 20. yeres last past and upwards hath beene a very great
trader for silver, bullion and coyne, and for such commonly knowne And
further hee cannot depose./.
