Transcription

To the 5th hee cannot otherwise than as aforesaid depose.

To the 6th article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that the said
John T[?unninsoe] Cordj and Paulo Maria Cordj were and at this present
are dwellers and Inhabitants of and in Ligorne and Italians, and Subiects
tp the Great duke of Tuscany and for such were and are comonly
accompted reputed and taken which hee knoweth to be true because
hee this deponent hath bin often at Leghorne and hath severall
tymes seene the said parties there, and hath heared them generally said and
accompted to bee persons borne in that towne where
theire families and howses now are. And further hee cannot depose.

To the crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith That hee was none of the Company of the
ship the Royall at the tyme interrogated referring himselfe to his
foregoeing deposition And otherwise cannot depose.

To the second Interrogatorie hee saith that hee hath knowne the parties producent
by the space of about theise 5 yeares, both which hee saith are Italians
and Subiects of and to the Great duke of Tuscany, referring him selfe to
his foregoeing deposition And otherwise hee answereth negativelye

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the Royall is of a danish[?e]
buit, but her Commander and company hee saith were Frenchmen and subiects
of the French Kinge And otherwise hee answereth negatively referring himselfe
to his foregoeing deposition.

To the fowrth Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively to every part thereof saying
that hee for his part hath noe share either in the said shippe or the goods in
question nor hath hee any relation to the Claymers in this cause.

To the 5th Interrogatorie hee saiththe said goods now claymed are of the Growth
of and in the Levant[?a] And are the same which the said John Francisco Cordj
tooke in a ship bound therewith for Constantinople where the same were to
bee delivered for the use of the Grand Seignour And saith that after such his takeing
and seizure thereof hee brought them into [?RaffX] where hee put the same abord
the said ship the Royall in this deponents sight and soe consigned them
to his Brother Paul[?a] Maria Cordi at Leghorne. And otherwise hee cannot
depose.

To the 6th Interrogatorie hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition and otherwise
answereth negatively./

To the 7th Interrogatorie hee saith hee hath not soe deposed as is interrogated
And otherwise referring himselfe to his foregoeing deposition hee saith hee
cannot depose.

To the 8th and 9th Interrogatories hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition And otherwise hee saith hee cannot depose.
