Transcription

of Spaham in Persia where this deponent was allsoe borne. And
otherwise (saveing as aforesaid) hee answereth negatively

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the Saint Martyn
is a ffrench shipp and her Captaine and most of her
Company hee saith were and are ffrenchmen. And
otherwise hee answereth negatively.

To the fowerth hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition
and otherwise hee answereth negatively.

To the 5th Interrogatorie hee saith that the goods claymed in this cause
are of the growth of severall Countreyes videlicet the fower bales
of Grogaran yarne in the said bill of ladeing specified are of the growth of
Begburzar in the Turks Dominions, The two bales of worme
seed and one bale of Rubarb schedulated hee saith are of the growth
of Bask and Barhar under the Dominions of the King of Juzbeck
neere Persia. And the 5. bales of silke allsoe specified in the
said bill of lading hee saith are of the Growth of Azdivele in
Persia And saith hee was present when they were all bought
by the said producent of severall merchants in Smirna, some part
whereof hee saith were bought with ready money and the other with Corall
videlicet the silke the Rubarb and wormeseed was bought with ready money
and the Grogaran yarne with part money and part Corall. And
otherwise hee cannot depose saveing his foregoeing deposition.

To the 6th Interrogatorie hee saith that the ffrench had never any thing
to doe with any of the said goods claymed in this cause nor were
or are they to receave any hazard or Advanture thereabout And
otherwise hee answereth negatively

To the 7th Interrogatorie hee saith That hee did see the said Michaell
Audric signe the said bill of lading and at the same tyme hee
saith hee did see him signe another of the sáme tenor one
whereof the producent left at Smirna and the other hee
brought along with him And otherwise hee answereth negatively
saveing that the said producent was to pay ffreight for his said
goods at Leghorne to the said Captaine Audric and Cambio money
according to the said bill of ladeinge./

To the 8th Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the Saint Martin
was seized by eight of the Parliaments ships neare the Ile Corsica
about 5 moneths since And saith that the said producent, together
with this deponent and six other Armenian Merchants and 5 servants with
some Maultese Men and Woemen [XXXXX XXXXXX] all were tourned ashore upon an
Iland neere Trapany And otherwise saveing his foregeoing
deposition hee saith hee cannot depose saveing that the Names of
the [XXXX] other 6 Armenian Merchants were as followeth videlicet three Jacomes
Hoÿah Kamal Hoÿah Sarakan and Hoÿah Maco
and their servants hee saith were two of them named herapaide
one Hutcatuer, one Balthazar and one Gregorio
