Transcription

To the second Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that the said
shipp after her departure from the Canarayes and as shee
was proceeding in her course for London was off Scilley
upon the first day of ffebruary last past English stile
mett withall surprized and taken by the Patricke and the
ffrancis two men of warre belonging to Jersey and by
them with her ladeing and Company was carryed first
into Scilley and presently after into Jersey
where the same was condemned for and made prize
of and his precontest and diverse of his company were
allsoe carryed of prisoners into the said Iland and there
detayned. All which hee knoweth to bee true because hee
this deponent was abord the said shipp the Mathew and
John when shee was soe seized and was allsoe carryed
a Prisoner into Scilley roade with the rest and sawe the said
shippe and his said precontest soe taken and carryed away
for Jersey. And otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that hee for his part doeth
not knowe who were the owners of the said ship when
shee was soe seized but hath credibly heard it reported
that his said precontests Edward Arlibeere the younger and
Edward Arlibeere the Elder his father had some share and
Interest in the said ship. And otherwise hee cannot depose

To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith that the said ship the Mathew
and John arrived at the Canary Islands upon or
about the 13 or 14th dayes of december last past old stile
and came from thence directly for London upon
the Ninth day of January last past as is predeposed to
which hee referreth himselfe for further answere hereunto
And other wise cannot depose.

To the second Interrogatorie hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition and otherwise hee cannot depose.

To the third Interrogatorie hee saith that when the said ship was
seized shee was in her direct Course for London
And otherwise referring himselfe to his foregoeing
deposition hee saith hee cannot depose./

To the last hee saith that hee this deponent with some others of
the said ships Company were set on shore in Corenewall about the
14th or 15th day of ffebruary next after the seizure of the said shippe
And saith that one John Hawten servant to his precontest
