Text formatting
The MarineLives transcription platform is built on MediaWiki, which uses wiki markup to format text. Adding footnotes
- Go into edit mode
- Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
- Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
- Save the page

for his parte hee doth not beleeve the said
position to bee true in any parte thereof
To the 12th pretensed position hee answereth
and beleeveth that teh said Bradley Mugford
and the rest of the parties mentioned in
the schedule hereunto annexed did serve
in the said shippe from the time of
her first goeing out unto the time of her
takeing and further hee referreth
