Portugall shipps to come thither from
the east Indies, whereupon this respondent
and his Company were Commanded and
forced with theire said shipps by the offi=
cers of the Kinge of Portugall there to
give over theire said Corne freight and
to Convoy the said Portugall shipps
for Lisborne which they by the force afores
said did performe and arrive therewith
att Lisborne the 4th of August 1648 for
which said voyadges from Lisborne to the
Westerne Islands and backe againe this
respondent and the rest of his owners did
receave the Summe of 250 li and not above
as hee beleeveth and this respondent bee
leeveth that dureing that time it did cost
this rendent and the rest of the owners
in victualling for his Company the summe
of 114 li besides other charges and the freight
of his said shippe And otherwise for his
parte hee doeth not beleeve the said pretensed
position to bee true in any parte thereof
Saveing this rendent beleeveth that hee
this rendent did bringe in his said
shippe from the Westerne Islands to
Lisborne the number of Thirty Tonnes
of Corne and not above as hee beleeveth
and noe other goods which were dis=
charged the 15th of August 1648 att Lisborne as hee beleebeth and this rendent
beleeveth that hee staid and remained
in the Westerne Islands aforesaid till
the 22th of July 1648 and noe longer
as hee beleeveth/
