the hopewell made to the pre
tensed positions of a pretensed
Allegation given against him
on the behalfe of John Chap

To the first hee answereth That hee
doeth beleeve the same to bee true

To the second third fourth fifth and
sixth hee answereth and beleeveth That
hee this Rendent being bound out upon
a Tradeinge voyadge to severall ports
and amongst othes to Treppany and
Gallipola being ports in the Straights
att which this Rendent had never beene
and therefore conceivinge himselfe
very unfitteinge to carry or conduct
his shippe into the same hee did hire
the said Soames Chapman and [?XX]
the Twoe former to goe his mates
with him in the said voyadge whoe
professed themselves very skillfull and
