William Carter (b. ca. 1634; d. ?). Mariner.
Gunner on the Hopewell in late 1654.

Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-four year old William Carter deposed on May 30th 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on an allegation on behalf of Isaac Lawrence and company in "A busines of Examination of witnesses (as perpetuam memoriam) promoted by Isaack Lawrence and company} owners of the Hopewell of which George Case is master against all that pretend tytle or interest in the ladeing lately brought home in the sayd shipp from Scanderoone to this port of London touching certaine stormes which the sayd shipp mett with in her passage betweene Scanderoone and London aforesaid".[1]
