Abstract & context
Henry Gary wrote to Sir George Oxenden in a letter dated October 29th, 1662. The letter was sent from Goa.
In the letter, Gary XXXX
Henry Gary had been in the East Indies since at least 1650.[1] His wife appears to have been in Surat, since he mentioned in this letter that she had informed him of John Lambton's death (in Surat). There is a record of the burial in 165X of a child of Henry Gary, aged fourteen, in the English cemetery at Surat.[2]
