The vice Kings non Complyance w:th his Master y.e King of Portugalls order for y:e Delivery up of Bombay unto my Lord of Marleburgh & S:r Abraham Shipman for his Maj:ty ??use [three letter word entirely missing due to worm hole] ; & y:e extraordinary great rates y:t y:e ?lappidanes sett upon Dyamonds y:s yeare brought soo much distraction & Confusion upon y:e ?Contratadores (who have great effects in theire hands of theire principalls in Europe) y:t made them resolve before y:e Rich:d & Martha last arrivall to & departure from this port of not sending any returnes this yeare unto theire said principalls, to w:ch purposse they oblidged them selves and unto y:e other w:th y:e forfiture of great penalltyes not to byy any Dyamonds.
