The claime of John Bushell and}
company for 20 chests of sugar in the}
Nostra Seniora [?alias] Saint Anthony etcetera}
Examined upon the allegation in acts made 13 [?december] 1650 and exhibited therein
[XXXXXXd].
Rp. 1
Garret Johnson of Amsterdam in holland Mariner aged
31 yeares or therebouts sworne and examined.
To the said allegation and exhibit therein mentioned, and more particularly
to the seale thereof in Greene wax nowe showed unto him, hee saith and
deposeth that hee verily beleeveth the same to be the publique and towne
seale of the towne of Amsterdam, with the print and Impression where of
hee saith hee is very well acquainted having had many of the same [?sent]
to severall Instruments which hee hath carried to sea, which Instruments hee
this deponent hath fetched from time to time from the Burgomaster of
Amsterdam for the time being, and hath two of them in his tinne
box in this court, taken in his shipp the Blew Unicorne by Captaine Bourne
And otherwise hee cannot depose.

Peter Musart of Amsterdam Merchant, aged 31. yeares or
thereabouts, sworne and examined.
To the said allegation and exhinit under seale nowe showed unto him, hee
saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the publique and common
seale of Amsterdam and hath often seene the same sett and imprinted
to severall writings and Instruments, and bin present at the said setting
thereof unto such writings, and saith the seale or impression nowe showed
unto him in Greene wax to the said exhibit, is of the very same figure
and forme that is made with the said publique and common seale of
the citie of Amsterdam, And therefore hee verily beleeveth the same to be made and
imprinted with the said seale. And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving
that hee alsoe well knoweth the signing and subscriotion of
Gerrard hulst Secretari[?a] of the said citie, and hath often seene him set his
name to publique Instruments passing under the seale of the said towne,
and verily beleeveth his the said Secretaries name in the foote of the said
exhinit, adioyning to the said seale to be written with his proper hand.
