Transcription The fourth of October 1659. The ''Sunne''The fourth of October 1659. The ''Sunne'' of London}. '''Rp.''' '''John Mascall''' of London Merchant aged fourtie seaven yeares<br /> or thereabouts sworne before the right worshipfull John Godolphin<br /> Doctor of lawes one of the Judges of the high Court of the<br /> Admiraltie of Engalnd saith and deposeth by vertue of his oath Tha hee very well knew the shipp the ''Sunn'' of London<br /> whereof Phillip Wild was commannder, and that the said shipp in<br /> or about the moneth of November last past being bound for Genoa<br /> to carry herrings, departed from this port of London to goe to Yarmouth<br /> to take in her said lading of herrings, which hee knoweth being privie<br /> to her said departure and designe, and saith that (as by credible<br /> advise by letters received by this deponent from those parts) the said<br /> shipp safely arived with her said lading of herrings from Yarmouth<br /> at Genoa in or about January last, and that in or about May<br /> last shee departed thence againe to come for England. And further<br /> hee saith that the said Phillip Wilde was part owner of the said<br /> shipp during all the said voyage, and was at and bore one full halfe share<br /> of the costs and charges of fitting and furnishing her to sea<br /> both outwards and homewards, which hee knoweth for that this deponent<br /> was alsoe a part owner of her and acquainted with the<br /> share of each and every of the other owners.
