before John Mart ?Sijyler Generall of the Dutch East<br />
India Company at Battava (sic), and further cannot depose.
To the 15th and 16th hee cannot depose being then dangerously<br />
sick, and was carried out of the said ship ''Bantam ffrigot''<br />
to a house in Battavia where hee lay sick about<br />
five weekes.
To the 17th and 18th hee saith that the said ship the ''Bantam ffrigot''<br />
was detained and hindered by the said Van Voozst<br />
and the Generalll of Battavia, and their order, from<br />
the Eleventh of October 1657: or thereabouts<br />
untill the tenth of December following, and then<br />
the said Ship set saile from Batavia for Europe<br />
with such Pepper as shee had taken in before the said<br />
11th of October, shee not being permitted to take in<br />
any goods whatsoever afterwards in those parts that<br />
this deponent knoweth of, and further cannot depose<br />
saving as aforesaid:/:

To the 20th hee saith that the said ''Bantam ffrigot''<br />
was when she was in the parts aforesaid of the<br />
Burthen of about Two hundred and tenne Tonns<br />
and as many Tonne of pepper hee beleeveth shee<br />
would have brought for Europe the said Voyage; had shee<br />
not bin hindred interrupted and detained as aforesaid. and further<br />
cannot depose:
To the 21th hee saith the said ship the ''Bantam ffrigot''<br />
after her Departure from Battavia, sayled to Leghorne<br />
and there safely arrived on or about the 18th day<br />
of August 1658: and there her said pepper taken in<br />
at Indra Ponza was delivered. but howe many<br />
Tonns the same amounted to hee knoweth not, and saith<br />
hee this deponent was upon the departure of the said ship ''Bantam''<br />
''ffrigot'' brought from shore on board her, and Carried<br />
in her to Leghorne and further cannot depose:
To the 22th 23th 24th 25th 26th 27th 28th and 29th hee saith hee<br />
cannot depose thereto saving as aforesaid, and saving<br />
that the said Sir John Dethick Knight, and the reste of<br />
the said Owners: and Imployers of the said ship, have suffered<br />
great Losse and dammage by meanes of the premisses<br />
but saith hee cannot estimate the same,:
To the 20th hee saith that whilest the said Shipp the ''Bantam''<br />
''ffrigat'' was upon the said Coast of Sumatra, the Voyage in question<br />
