the said John Brand ffrancklin}

Jusges in Doctor Godolphins<br />
Chamber in the presence of<br />
the same Notary Appeared<br />
personally Charles Mariscoe<br />
of London merchant and on<br />
the behalfe of himselfe and<br />
John Buck of London merchant<br />
produced a judiciall convention<br />
made and allowed and entred<br />
in this Cort the 28th of<br />
Aprill 1656 whereby it appeared<br />
that the said John Bucke and Chalres<br />
Mariscoe had lent upon bottomry upon the<br />
keele and bottom of the shippe the ''Lewisa''<br />
''Charlotte'' alias the ''Armes of Coureland'' of which<br />
John BRand was Master and Purser (and alsoe<br />
the goods that were or should bee laden therein<br />
for the use of his Excellency James Suke of<br />
Courland owner of the said shippe) and upon the<br />
goods and freight and ffurniture of the said<br />
shippe the summe of nine hundred ffifty twoe<br />
pounds seaventene shillings and foure pence<br />
sterlinge money and that they had lent the same<br />
as pecunna trajectitia and were to runn the<br />
Riscoe and perill thereof upon the said bottomry<br />
upon the voyage in the said Judiciall Convention<br />
specifyed that is to say upon her then intended<br />
voyage from that porte of London to Guinney<br />
and Topagoe (intended agreed to bee performed<br />
within tenne daies next after the date of<br />
the said Judiciall convention) and alsoe from<br />
Topago to Plymouth Dartmouth or the<br />
Downes intended and agreed to bee within<br />
foure monthes next following the said Tenne<br />
monthes soe as if the said shipp shoudl perish<br />
in that said intended voyage thn the said<br />
money soe lent and layd out to runne upon<br />
the riscoe and hazard of the said Bucke and<br />
Mariscoe Butt that if in case it should please<br />
god to blesse the said shippe soe that shee<br />
should returne from the said voyage safe to<br />
Plymouth Dartmouth or the Downes of should<br />
bee in being and not lost perished or surprized<br />
within the space of foureteene monethes that<br />
then the said Riscoe and perill of the said<br />
Bucke and Mariscoe and the said nine<br />
hundred fifty twoe pounds principall to gether<br />
with Vent per Vent agreed to bee allowed for<br />
the interest Rescoe and perill and adventre<br />
of the said Burke and Mariscoe aforesaid<br />
upon the said bottomry to bee allowed<br />
