Ad primum rendet That the said Interrate ship the ''Hope'' whereof this Examinate is<br />
Master doth belong to Mr Vincent de Bleke who liveth in Bruxelles in Brabant<br />
the Dominions of the King of Spaine and is a native of that place or of Antwerpe<br />
hee hath bin sole owner of the says ship for about [?thirteene] weekes<br />
last, and was alsoe owner of her for about three quarter of a yeere next before only his sister<br />
who liveth at Antwerp and is named Susanna Vandersleyn had a share with him which<br />
hee bought of her about 13 weekes since, and saith that about a yeere since the<br />
sayd Vincent de Bleke bought the said ship at Brussells of one Joos [?XXXXXX]<br />
living in Zealand where the said ship then was but this deponent was not at XXX XXXXX<br />
sawe the contract and sawe that the mony to wit 505 guilder payd at Ostend<br />
to the said Joos Jooson who was there there, and soe was the sayd ship, this deponent<br />
having by appointment of the said Vincent de Bleke fetched her hither from<br />
Zealand And saith that the sayd Vincent de Bleke bought the said ship to send<br />
her a fishing or upon any other designe because the Dutch trade was hindred by the [?Warr]<br />
And saith that hee knoweth the said ship for about a yeere before such her buying<br />
and sayth shee belonged to the said Joos Jooson of Zealand and shee is Zealand ?built<br />
and saith that since hee soe fetched her from Zealand shee hath not bin in any<br />
[?XXXXX XXXXX] or dominion and upon the said buying the said Vincent de Bleke lett his<br />
said sisters held a part with him, and saith that the said Vincent de Bleke hath dureing all<br />
the tyme of this depo:ts knowledge of him (which hath bin for about 13 yeeres and had<br />
in Brussells aforesd et alr nescit.
Ad 2:XX rendit That the said ship is of the burthen of about thirty two tonnes<br />
and when shee was taken shee had in her about 72 barrells of Herrings and 32<br />
barrells of other fish, w:ch they had XXXX upon the said Vincent de Blekes account<br />
who was and is the reall owner thereof as well as of the sd ship, et alr nescit
Ad 3:XX rendit That hee this deponent hired all his men at Ostend to goe this time a fishing<br />
and carryed only empty barrells and salt out for his fish on the said Vincent XX XX<br />

Ad 4:XX rendit that hee this rendit had onboard Eight men besides himselfe & ?three<br />
boyes. None of which are ffrench or Danes, but some are of ffland. XXX whereas<br />
the rest are hee knoweth not but hee hired them at Ostend, et alr nescit
Ad 5:XX saving hee hayth that hee beleeveth that two of his company are XXX<br />
of the United Provinces.
Ad 4 (sic):XX rendit that hee had a seabriefe and other writing onboard but no bill of<br />
Lading and saith that hee delivered them till XXXXXXXXX up to the Kings Officers and none were<br />
burnt torne concealed or anywayes made away, et alr nescit.
Ad 6:XXX rendet That when the said ship was taken shee was goeing to Ostende<br />
where she was really to goe and soe they declared at the time of the seizure<br />
that the said ship did belong as aforesaid when seized<br />
was made by an English frigott about five or six miles from the fflanders<br />
shore, who carryed him onboard Prince Rupert, and saith that the said seizure<br />
happened about three weekes since. et alr nescit.
Ad 7:XX rendet that hee sayth seised in the said ship as her Master about a yeere XXX<br />
whicch time hee had made three voyages from Ostend to Leith in Scotland<br />
going thither XXXX in ballast and brought thence to Ostend<br />
Oysters on his said owners account and two voyages hee made from Ostend to ?Crill<br />
in Scotland on the same accompt going in ballast and returning with Lobsters and<br />
Coles which are all the voyages besides this that hee hath made w:th her And<br />
the said lading were consigned to that said owner and being upon his account<br />
