Ad primum arlum dia Allonis deponit et dicit That hee well knoweth<br />
the aclate Joachim Laurence and David Zollicoffer his freighters<br />
and hath soe knowne them ever since they freighted his ship the<br />
''Jesus Maria Joseph Saint Andrew'' of which this deponent is Captaine which the<br />
freighting him was in December last at Valentia in the Dominions of the<br />
King of Spaine, at which place the said freighters lived the said time and<br />
kept house, and there hee left them all living. And sayth that they<br />
freighted the said ship to goe from Valentia to Gaudia and [?Sabia] in the<br />
Kingdome of Valentia aforesaid to take in Wine and Reysins and other merchandi<br />
sing as their ffactors would lade, and to carry the same to Hamborowe<br />
and there to Deliver the same to John Scothering a merchant and reputed Senator<br />
of that place And all for the account of the sayd three Zollicoffers<br />
his freighters And soe his papers doe alsoe demonstrate<br />
et alr nescit./
Ad 2:um deponiit That the sayd ship being soe freighted<br />
the sayd Zollicoffers did lade onboard the sayd ship at Gaudia<br />
one hundred seaventy five pipes of wine, and twelve butts of Pickled<br />
Lemons and three butts of Brandy and two hundred sixty foure basketts<br />
of Raysins, about 2 hundred kintalls of Rosemary leaves and as hee thinketh about fourty two hundred [?XXX] and about six bales of some other goods and at Sabia they did<br />
alsoe lade onboard the sayd ship about two thousand foure hundred sixty<br />
seaven basketts of Raysins All for the account of the sayd three Zollicoffers<br />
who were present at the sayd places, and the same hee saith were to be [?carryed]<br />
to and delivered at Hamborow as aforesayd for and upon the account and adventure<br />
of the sayd three Zollicoffers And hee further saith that hee tooke<br />
not any of his present lading at any other Place saving that at [?XXXX]<br />
hee tooke in twenty foure basketts of [?XXXX] [?XXXX] and two butts and a halfe of wine for this deponents owne account two butts<br />
of wines for one of his pilotts & two butts more for his other pilot and one for his other marriners [?XXX]<br />
nescit saving hee saith that hee this deponent laded at Gaudia three butts of<br />
black wines for his owne provision and at Sabia sixty three basketts of<br />
Raysins for his owne account.
Ad 3:um deponit That the sayd three Zollicoffers told this Deponent at the [?time]<br />
of lading the sayd Goods that Mr John Lomkuell of London Merchantt was their<br />
correspondent in England, and that if hee this deponent should by Storme or other<br />
accident be driven into England hee should make his addresses to the sayd<br />
Mr Limkuell, And saith that then the arlate Mr Tobias Zollicoffer was<br />
come into England et alr pro [?XXX] sua nescit.
Ad 4:um deponit That hee this deponent did not before hee was brought in by<br />
the Privateer that tooke him receive any letter about this busuines from<br />
the sayd Mr Tobias Zollicoffer but since the sayd Mr Tobias Zollicoffer came [?XX] [?to]<br />
him promising him to assist him and get him cleared which what expedition [?hee]<br />
could. And hee further saith that this sayd Cargo of Goods<br />
marked with the marke in the margent which is an [?iron] marke<br />
it being heated the marke was burnt upon the Caskes, and hee [?supposeth] that<br />
the sayd marke is the usuall marke of the sayd freighters, but hee doth not know<br />
it to be soe not having ever before carryed any goods from them et alr referend[?XX]<br />
