Ad 26: dicit that the said ship the ''Mayflower'' was of the<br />
burthen of 280 Tonns and shee might have received onboard<br />
her at the place aforesaid had shee not bin so hindred and carried the same to the Coast of Cormandell (where<br />
the English East India ships lay) 448000 ''lb'' of pepper or thereabouts which might<br />
have bin bought there at 2 ''d'' per ''lb'' or neere thereabouts, and<br />
the same might have bin brought to England where the same<br />
would have yeilded 11 ''d'' per pounds out of which 2 ''d'' per ''lb'' being<br />
deducted for the purchase cost, and 3 1/2 ''d'' per pound for ffreight and<br />
Customes there remaineth 5 1/2 ''d'' per ''lb'' profitt which amounteth<br />
to 9766 ''li'' 13 ''s'' 4 ''d'' or thereabouts, And by meanes of the said<br />
ships being soe hindered, shee was forced<br />
to returne in the winter season, and [?therefore] her welfare us<br />
very doubtfull and if shee should not arrive in safety the<br />
said Honourable Governor and Company would as hee beleeveth<br />
sustaine Losse and damage to the summe or Vallue of thirty<br />
thousand pounds in this Deponents Judgement and by reason of her<br />
said hindering shee is forced to stay about foure months longer<br />
bu the way, to the Great damage of the said Governor and Company<br />
shee being freighted at 7 ''li'' per diem./.
Ad 27. dicit that the said ship ''Anne'' was and is of the<br />
burthen of 250 Tonnes or thereabouts and had shee not<br />
bin hindered as aforesaid shee might at Acheene or thereabouts have received on board<br />
her about 400000 ''lb'' of pepper at the rate aforesaid which might<br />
have bin brought for England and here the same would<br />
have yeelded the rate aforesaid to witt 11 ''d'' per pound out of which<br />
2 ''d'' per ''lb'' purchase cost, and 3 ''d'' of ffreight and Customes, being deducted<br />
