and Deprived the said Captaine Dowdall and Company of the<br />
said ffrigott, and money and what goods shee had in<br />
her, And the next tyde carried her and the said money<br />
and what shee had in her from Swansey, and as<br />
hee hath heard shee is now at Plymouth And saith that after<br />
shee was soe seized, and before shee was Carried away<br />
the said Captaine Barker and Captaine Dowdall met at<br />
the House of the Major of Swanzey, where this Deponent was<br />
present with them, and after the said two Captaines had saluted<br />
each other the said Dowdall in this Deponents presence told the<br />
said Barker that hee sailed with the Duke of Yorkes<br />
Commission. and hoped that hee was not an enimey, saying<br />
hee was a servant of his Majestyes. to which Barker<br />
answered that the King had noe need of such servants<br />
as hee was; saying that a Course would be taken with such as<br />
hee or to that very effect, and told the said Dowdall<br />
alsoe that hee would send his ffrigot to Plymouth, to the<br />
Commissioners and accordingly sent her away, And further<br />
doth not depose./:
To the 9th. hee saith that hee knoweth that there were severall<br />
baggs of money onboard the said ffrigot when shee was<br />
seized. which this Deponent [?sawe] but doth not knowe what<br />
goods shee had in her./:
To the 10th. and the schedule therein mentioned<br />
being the second schedule annexed nowe read over by him<br />
this Deponent hee saith that the said schedule was and is<br />
true and was really subscribed by William Jones major<br />
of Swanzey John Bowen Robert Jones. John Daniel Lewis<br />
Jones and Thomas Williams Aldermen of the said Towne<br />
and him this Deponent on the Day of the sate thereof this Deponent<br />
seeing them all subscribe the same, And saith that the said Persons<br />
are all well knowne to him this Deponent And further cannot depose.
To the 11th. hee saith that hee this Deponent sawe the said<br />
Barkers Company when they were on board the said ffrigot<br />
''Henrietta Maria'' breake open severall Chests and boxes. And<br />
saith the said Seizors carried away the foresaid Commission granted<br />
to the said Dowdall by his said Royall Highnesse, and<br />
the said Barker himselfe acknowledged to the<br />
Major of Swanzey that hee had the said Commission./
