answer saving as aforesaid.
To the fourth hee saith the said papers were soe delivered back all at once<br />
and the same time and place, and saith there were about six or seaven<br />
dayes space betwixt the said receipt thereof by John van lynen and this<br />
deponent, and the said redelivery thereof to the said Secretary.

To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that hee hath well<br />
knowne the shipp the ''Marcus Aurelius'' interrogated about nine yeares<br />
last, and saith that in the yeere 1649 hee this deponent and partners<br />
bought her at Serdam as shee came new off the stocks and then<br />
finished and fitted her and ever since this deponent hath bin master<br />
of her being a part owner and tooke that office upon him with the<br />
consent of the rest of his said partners, owners of the said vessell, and<br />
saith that about five yeares or more since hee made a voyage with her<br />
to Venice, Scandaron, Alexandria, and Naples and other places in the Mediteranean sea, and since<br />
hee made three or foure voyages to Spaine, the last whereof hee<br />
saith hee began from Amsterdam about two yeares and halfe since and went to Cadiz and<br />
thence to Carracas in West India to lade hides, and thence to<br />
Amsterdam where hee dischardged them; and that such his arivall at<br />
Amsterdam was in the beginning of September was a twelve moneth<br />
new stile, where hee continued about a yeere with his shipp without<br />
voyaging, and that on the first of September last past new stile<br />
hee came from the Texel in her on her present voyage bound for<br />
Cadiz, and saith this deponent is a native of Mur[?X]ward in East ffreizland, but<br />
frpm his [?part] hath lived in holland, and now liveth in Amsterdam<br />
and hath soe donne for foure or five and thirtie yeeres last past or thereabouts and is<br />
a subiect of the Lords the States of the United Netherlanads.
To the second Interrogatorie hee saith that the said shipp was now bound<br />
to Cadiz in Spaine, and was there to discharge her present lading, and<br />
there this deponent was to take a freight for her further imployment, and<br />
was not bound now for any other place but Cadiz, nor intended for any other<br />
butnor intended for any other<br />
