damage[?s] the Owners of the ''John and Katherine'' have sustained by [??reason GUTTER]<br />
of the breaking of the said ships head. but verily beleeveth<br />
that they are Damnifyed by reason of the breaking<br />
of one Cable, and the Cutting of the other as aforesaid<br />
to the summe or vallue of Six<br />
Pounds. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 6.th hee saith the said ship. the ''John and''<br />
''Katherine'' at the time when the said Damage was<br />
done was a Stronge Staunch and tight ship, and her<br />
head was stronge and firme, and was of this deponents<br />
knowledge made about twelve moneths before<br />
the said Damage happened, and the same was very<br />
richly Carved Guilded and painted. which hee<br />
knoweth for the reasons aforesaid.
To the 7.th hee saith that hee well knoweth that the<br />
said John Miller was at Great Charges in [XXX GUTTER]<br />
of Boates from Gravesend to London. to fetch [XXX GUTTER]<br />
Timber to make the said ship a Stumpe head and<br />
further cannot depose./:

To the first hee saith hee cometh to Testify herein<br />
at the request of the said Miller, and was masters mate of<br />
the ''John and Catherin'' at the time Interrate. and [?hath GUTTER]<br />
receaved all his wages for his service in the said<br />
ship since the said damage was done, saving about [XXXX GUTTER]<br />
whih was deducted out of this Deponents wages. towards satisfaction for a [?SXXX GUTTER]<br />

To the second hee saith that hee was on board the ''John and''<br />
''Katherin'' when the said damage was done, and saith it was<br />

fell foule of the hause of the ''John and Katherin'' and<br />
was then a fine [?Loome] or fresh Gale of winde, and the<br />
said ''John and Katherine'' rode about a Cables length from<br />

on board her, and shee was then Laden and was bound<br />
