Account and bring the same for London and there deliver them to them or<br />
their Agents In order whereto the sayd shipp hee saith did in the<br />
moneths and tyme arlate safely arive in Petras roade where and<br />
at Ma?thaligo the Agents of the sayd Alderman Riccard and Company<br />
laded one hundred and sixty tonnes of Currans of the growth of<br />
Mathalagos and Petrao and divers other goods and money for their<br />
use and Accompt to be transported for London and there delivered<br />
to them or their Agents for their use And further hee cannot depose/
To the 4th 5th and 6th articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that after<br />
the ''Lady ffrigott'' had receaved the sayd Currans and other her lading<br />
and the sayd moneys on board her shee lay peaceably at Anchor<br />
therewith, in the Road of Petra?s, till the fowerteenth of November<br />
1658 on which day hee saith hee well remembreth a certayne shipp<br />
of about one hundred and fifty tonnes burthen manned for the<br />
most part with Italians, and called (as this deponent heard a<br />
dutch man who was Master of her and a dutch man who was gunner<br />
of her and an Irishman who was of her company and could speake English saye after the seizure of the ''Lady ffrigot''<br />
and her ladeing) the ''Santa Cruse'', whereof (as they sayd) one ffrancisco<br />
Stale was Captaine came into Petras Road with a white flagg<br />
on her poope and made as if shee intended peaceably to have Ancho-<br />
red neere the ''Lady ffrigott'' but when shee came neere her the sayd<br />
Stale and his Company instead of coming to an Anchor did in a<br />
warlike manner with gunns swords and other Instruments of warr<br />
violently assault and board the ''Lady ffrigott'' and wounded<br />
the Captain of her and some of his Company (but how many<br />
hee remembreth not) and seized the sayd shipp and her ladeing<br />
of Currans and other goods and money and dispoiled the Owners thereof<br />
of them, and converted it and them to the use of them the sayd Stale<br />
and Company And hee saith that hee this deponent heard the<br />
sayd dutch man and Irish man acknowledge and say before this deponent<br />
and others of the ''Lady ffrigotts'' Company that the sayd shipp ''Santa Cruse''<br />
belonged to Gennoa and was manned and sett out thence as alsoe<br />
were two other shipps of warr that came thence in her Company<br />
by the arlate Hippolito Centurioni a Gennose and that the<br />
sayd Captaine Stale did for the better enableing him to seize<br />
the ''Lady ffrigott'', a little before his seizure of her take about thirty<br />
mariners and souldiers out of the sayd two other Gennoa men of<br />
warr And hee this deponent saith that most of the ''Santa Cruse''<br />
her Company were Italians and as the sayd dutchman and<br />
Irishman sayd most of them belonged to Gennoa And further<br />
to these articles hee cannot depose./
To the 7th article hee saith that after the seizure of the ''Lady''<br />
''ffrigott'' and her sayd ladeing and money the sayd two dutch men<br />
